On not wanting to work right now

And not having to. Thanks to this lovely thing called “new media,” Online_tv_guidethere is a proliferation of distraction just waiting for me on this here Interweb.

This very morning, the Wall Street Journal Online even provided me with a guide to watching network TV online, gifting me with a handy guide to whittling away my afternoon.

And it appears I’m not the only one interested: While it’s too early for official ratings, ABC has reported 30 million “starts” (viewers who at least clicked on a show at the beginning) last fall on its full-episode Web programming.

Though the WSJ Online article refers to online viewing as “confusing” (finding those play buttons can be overwhelming at times… listen, if you ever can’t locate something you want online, start with some elementary research: type exactly what you want into Google. It’s amazing what will pop up.), viewership is reportedly growing—particularly among younger folk—and all of the major networks are pushing to digitize more programs.

So God Bless America: the country that allows me to watch Lost, 30 Rock, AND Brazilian model Daniela Cicarelli online. Right now.
