B2B media podcasting update
As a follow-up to my earlier post on this topic, here is a press release from CMP Media's VARBusiness announcing the launch of a podcast series "to benefit its readers and web visitors with choice and flexibility in obtaining editorial content from the award-winning magazine."
Quote:
"The new audio programming, from the biweekly that covers the business of technology integration, features original, Podcast-only content, available portably and on-demand. VARBusiness initial Podcasts will center on executive insights, business management and technology trends. The executive insight features an exclusive interview with Novell Chairman Jack Messman, conducted by VARBusiness Senior Executive Editor T.C. Doyle. In the wide-ranging session, Messman shares his thoughts on the issues facing his company, the open-source community and the industry. In the "Tech Watch" segment, the editors review the newest products on the market to determine which ones solution providers should be recommending to their customers. The Podcast's "Management Strategy" portion focuses on strategic advice for integrators on how to run their businesses better. VARBusiness Podcasts will be updated each week."
(Related note: On my personal weblog, rexblog.com, I've posted a series of way-too-long essays on the topic of what Apple's embrace of podcasting on its iTunes platform will mean for the nascent RSS-enabled medium. I touch on some B-to-B content possibilities in #3 of the series.)
